SMS Opt-in Flow — Burrow Pets

This page documents how users of the Burrow Pets mobile app (iOS & Android) provide explicit consent to receive SMS messages from 4636 Digital LLC D.B.A. Burrow Pets.

Consent Language Displayed On-Screen

The following disclosure text is shown in plain text directly below the phone number input field on the Verify Your Phone screen. It is fully visible before the user taps Get OTP — no scrolling or link navigation is required to see it:

"By providing your phone number, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You will receive a one-time verification code. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."

The underlined "Terms of Service" and "Privacy Policy" phrases are tappable links that open the respective full documents inside an in-app modal — they do not navigate away from the screen. The complete SMS disclosure text (message type, rates, and opt-out instructions) is always visible on-screen without requiring users to open those links.

Opt-in Flow

  1. User downloads the Burrow Pets app and taps Get started.
  2. User completes name, email, and date of birth fields.
  3. User arrives at the Verify Your Phone screen and enters their mobile number.
  4. The consent disclosure (above) is displayed in plain text immediately below the input field.
  5. User taps Get OTP — this act constitutes explicit consent. No pre-checked boxes are used.
  6. An OTP is delivered by SMS and the user enters it on the next screen to verify their number.

Consent is collected at the point of phone number submission. No SMS is sent before the user taps Get OTP.

Message Types

Burrow Pets sends only transactional SMS messages:

  • One-time verification codes (OTPs) — sent when a user verifies their phone number during registration or signs in on a new device.
  • Account-security alerts — sent in response to specific account activity initiated by the user.

No marketing or promotional SMS messages are sent. Users may reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS, or reply HELP for assistance. Contact support@burrowpets.app for help.

SMS messages are sent on behalf of Burrow Pets (4636 Digital LLC D.B.A. Burrow Pets) by our SMS delivery provider. Mobile phone numbers are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
